Notice we can change the thickness or direction of the panels. I do not want a panel on the front, so I’ll select the front which will exclude it. However, we also have the option to exclude sides. This will automatically detect the sides of the 3D body and create a panel for each one. We can now head to the JoinerCAD tab and activate the ‘Dress Up’ feature. We’ll then Extrude this to a depth of 450mm. Let’s sketch a rectangle that is 1500mm by 400mm. In essence, think of JoinerCAD as one tool in the toolchain that will speed up your workflow.
To be clear, you can still work in a classic way. JoinerCAD helps automate the panel creation through a ‘Skeleton’ design method. Note that we do not need to create a new component for this 3D body, as the add-in will create a unique Component for each panel. Let’s start with a sketch on the front XZ origin plane. Keep in mind that the free version still does a lot of automation.
